Shikshya Foundation Nepal is proud to be associated with photo.circle to present Nepal’s first international photography festival Photo Kathmandu

We strongly believe that education can also take place beyond classrooms, especially through reading, arts and culture.

Photo Kathmandu, with its exhibitions, workshops, educational tours and talk programs serves to be platform to have open, innovative and challenging conversation right in the heart of deep-rooted traditions of the historic city of Patan which was badly damaged in the April earthquake.

We believe this will allow the young and dynamic students, youth, leaders and elders who will be exposed to the works of Nepali and international artists photographers to interact between photography, history, anthropology and a wide array of the arts, providing a much-needed injection of cultural vibrancy in our current post earthquake recovery situation. We also hope it will put back the world’s focus in Nepal and help rebuild tourism and heritage.

SFN extended its support for the second edition in 2016 and the third edition in October 2018, and is now looking forward to the fourth edition in 2020.
