Arts in Education

Our vision is that every child in Thangpaldhap will have access to the creative arts in their everyday classroom from pre primary to class 5.

Shikshya Foundation Nepal and Srijanalaya signed a three year Memorandum of Understanading and Agreement with Panchpokhari Thangpal Village Municipality for the Art Works! Sangai Khelaun Program. There is a particular emphasis on getting the local authorities involved and eventually inculcate the learning in the local curriculum. The municipality includes 8 wards named Banskharka, Baruwa, Bhotang, Thangpalkot, Gunsa, Thangpaldhap, Bhotenamlang, and Langarche.

Art Works! Sangai Khelaun – an initiative in collaboration with Srijanalaya has successfully provided arts in education, art workshops, psychosocial intervention, incorporating local cultural practices into the curriculum, passing traditional cultural knowledge to young students, building the capacity of the teachers through multiple visits, discussions and demonstrations in Gorkha, Rasuwa, Mugu, Nawalparasi, Ramechap, Dang and Sindhupalchowk.

We are now collaborating with Panchpokhari Thangpal Village Municipality, Sindhupalchowk for the next three years so that there is a substantial follow up of the workshops held in the schools.
