Pravesh Gurung was born in Singapore and raised in Nepal. After his graduation, he worked in an NGO in Nepal. During his tenure at the NGO, he traveled extensively in rural Nepal, which became formative for his later filmmaking career. A graduate of Film Directing Program, California Institute of the Arts (Cal Arts), USA, his thesis film has been screened at more than 40 film festivals all over the world. He currently lives in Mumbai, India and has worked as Chief Assistant Director in "Guzaarish", a film by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
