Suman Thapa is a senior ophthalmologist and a Glaucoma specialist at the Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology (TIO), Kathmandu, Nepal, a non profit, community based, non-government organization founded by the Magsaysay Award winner Dr. Sanduk Ruit. TIO is the implementing body of the Nepal Eye Program.
Dr. Suman was instrumental in setting up of the Nepal Glaucoma Eye Clinic at TIO and subsequently, established the glaucoma fund for economically deprived patients.
He has travelled extensively to the remote parts of Nepal conducting eye camps.
